Much of Telluride’s success can be attributed to its strong community of volunteers, and the success of the Telluride Historical Museum is no different. The goal of the Museum is to make the history of Telluride and the region lively, vivid, relevant, and educational. Our valuable volunteers help to make this happen.
The variety of volunteer opportunities are endless at the Museum, from greeting visitors, organizing and working special events, gardening and aiding staff, to working with the Museum’s fascinating collection of artifacts. If a volunteer’s interests or talents fall outside of any of these areas, we will fit you in somewhere.
Volunteers can get an up-close glimpse into Telluride’s unique history by working with the Museum’s vast collections. The Museum is working to catalog its textile collection and gather artifacts for use in future temporary exhibits. No special skills are necessary to work at the Museum, just an enthusiasm for learning and a love of Telluride.
