DESCRIPTION:Join local mining historian Rudy Davison for a trek to this historic mill above Telluride! \nTour group will meet at the Museum at 8:00am\, and carpool to the Bridal Veil Power Plant\, where the hike will begin. 4×4 vehicles are required for the drive from Pandora to the power plant\, but carpools can be arranged. \nParticipants should be prepared for 5-6 hours of moderate to difficult hiking at altitude. Please bring water\, rain gear\, a hat\, sunblock\, and lunch or a snack\, as well as any other gear you may require. \nTickets are $20 / $15 for Museum Members \nClick here to purchase tickets!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for this special film screening of episode 5 of The Civil War and discussion with award-winning\, documentary film director Ken Burns. Episode 5: “The Universe of Battle” focuses on Gettysburg\, the costly battle that turned the tide of the Civil War. \n\n \nClick here to purchase tickets\nKen Burns has been making documentary films for more than 30 years. Since the Academy Award-nominated Brooklyn Bridge in 1981\, he has gone on to direct and produce some of the most acclaimed historical documentaries ever made. \nBurns was the director\, producer\, co-writer\, chief cinematographer\, musical director and executive producer of the landmark television series The Civil War. The film was the highest-rated series in the history of American public television – prior to Baseball\, and attracted an audience of 40 million during its premiere in September 1990.
