SUMMARY:Hike Into History: Bear Creek
DESCRIPTION:Take a hike up this classic trail with Rudy Davison and experience Bear Creek like you have never seen it before. You’ll weave through avalanche paths and explore the ruins of an old ore processing mill. The hike will begin at the Bear Creek trailhead and end at the bottom of the falls. You’ll learn about the mining history of this drainage including the Nellie Mine and San Miguel Consolidated Gold Mining Company. \nIf you are unfamiliar with Bear Creek it is a moderate to steep hike\, but isn’t too long. Come prepared for all weather (sun\, rain\, cold\, etc) and bring water and snacks. The hike will depart from the Bear Creek trailhead at 9:00 a.m. Please call the museum at 970-728-3344 to reserve your spot.

DESCRIPTION:This evening tour explores the iconic Lone Tree Cemetery in the ambiance and eeriness of lantern light. Perfect activity for Halloween season! Led by Telluride Historical Museum’s Director of Programs and Exhibits\, this tour tells Telluride’s history through the stories of the rugged people that lived\, worked and were buried here. \n$10 for Members // $20 for Nonmembers \nMeet for the tour at the maintenance shed in the middle of the cemetery promptly at 6:00 p.m. Bring a flashlight for safety and dress warmly! DESCRIPTION:Our last day of operations for the summer season is Saturday October\, 17. Our tentative re-opening date is December 2.
