SUMMARY:The Nugget: A Telluride Restoration Story\, and a Benefit for the Telluride Historical Museum
DESCRIPTION:FILM SCREENING: \n \nThe Nugget: A Telluride Restoration Story\, a documentary short film presented by former Nugget Building owners Katrine and Bill Formby as a benefit for the Telluride Historical Museum\n\nIn a Telluride real estate office in 1999\, Katrine Formby saw an historic drawing of the First National Bank of Telluride and was instantly captivated by its stately beauty — the curved windows\, the arched bank-hall entries\, and the striking tower. It was love at first sight.\n\n“Where is this building?” Katrine asked.\n\nThe reply was\, “You’re sitting in it…and it’s for sale.”\n\nAt the time\, the building was a pink and blue carnival-like disaster. Stones were falling off into the street\, decades of obvious neglect were impossible to ignore\, and the historic tower had long since disappeared. Yet that simple conversation sparked a multi-decade labor of love for the building and the people of Telluride. The goal: To restore the building to its former grandeur and recreate the original tower that had been missing for nearly ninety years.\n\nJoin us for a one-time viewing featuring complimentary beer\, wine\, and heavy appetizers as we celebrate the beauty of Telluride’s fascinating history and the Formby’s twenty-two-year efforts at restoring the Nugget Building.\n \nIn attendance for Q & A:\nWriter/Director/Producer Sara Hirsh Bordo\nProducer/Editor/Writer Fredrik Lidskog\nExecutive Producers Katrine and Bill Formby\nCo-Producer Amy Cook\n \nTICKETS\n$25 RESERVED SEATING\n+$6 TICKETING FEE
