Hike into History! Mill Creek to Wiebe: The Story of Telluride’s Water with Matt Steen on August 23, 2025
Join the Telluride Historical Museum and local history & backcountry expert Matt Steen for a hike from Mill Creek to the Jud Wiebe Trail, via the Waterline Trail. Along the way, we’ll learn about Telluride’s first water lines of the late 1800’s, as well as the history of water supplies, dams, diversions, and pipelines in and around Telluride.
Join us for ‘An Evening with Ken Burns’ on August 24, 2025
Join us on Sunday, August 24th at the Michael D. Palm Theatre as renowned documentary filmmaker Ken Burns returns to screen Episode 3 (“The Hillbilly Shakespeare”) of his acclaimed documentary, Country Music. The evening will feature the screening, post-film Q&A, and book & DVD signing.
Celebrate the 4th with THM!
We will be serving root beer floats (while supplies last) at the Museum on the 4th of July. Come on up the hill following the parade to celebrate the 4th with this classic summertime treat. $5/float. The Museum will also be open, free of charge, from 1pm to 5pm on the 4th. Come on by; we’d love to see you!
A Rare Medium, Well-Done: 50 Years of KOTO-FM
The Telluride Historical Museum is excited to announce their 2025-2026 annual exhibit: “A Rare Medium, Well-Done: 50 Years of KOTO-FM”. The exhibit opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5 to 8pm.
Museum Closed for Spring Off-Season. Reopening June 2, 2025 at 10am!
The Museum will be closed for the Spring off-season beginning Sunday, April 6, so be sure to swing by before then for your last chance to catch our annual exhibit, “You Are Here: Opportunity, Exploration, and Endurance in the San Juan Mountains.” We’ll be back in June, refreshed with a new annual exhibit and ready for summer adventures – stay tuned!
