2015 Summer Lecture Series: “Colorado’s Newest Mass Extinction”

June 17, 2015 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM MDT

FREE

This talk will focus on fossil, sedimentary, and chemical evidence for a massive reef-killing extinction that occurred 360 million-years-ago during the Devonian period. This evidence is contained in strata that occur in western and southwestern Colorado, and promises insights into what happens after a major ocean acidification event.
