Hike into History: The Story of Telluride’s Water

Join the Telluride Historical Museum and local history and backcountry expert Matt Steen for a hike from Mill Creek to the Jud Wiebe Trail, Via the Waterline Trail. Along the way, we’ll Learn about Tellurides first waterlines of the late 1800’s, as well as the history of water supplies, dams, diversions, and pipelines in and around Telluride. Museum staff will be meeting at the bottom of Mill Creek Road at 9:15 to reach the trailhead. If you have a vehicle that can reach the trailhead at the top of Mill Creek Road, feel free to meet us there to start the hike at 10am. Pack snacks, water, sunscreen, and weather appropriate gear. The tour will last approximately 3 hours and is moderately easy. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
