Snowshoe Tour – Prospect Basin’s Fen Wetlands

What research in Prospect Basin is the only one of its kind done in the United States?  What 10,000 year old ecosystem hides beneath the winter snow?   Find out on a casual informative Snowshoe Tour that explores the history of the Prospect Basin ski area expansion and the role Fens, Lynx and Elk played in the expansion plans.  We’ll visit a Fen and discuss the relationship between wetlands, water quality, endangered species and you.

  • Price includes foot passenger lift ticket, snowshoes, poles if desired & guided tour.
  • Tour departs at 9AM from Eco Adventures in the Franz Klammer Breezeway.
  • This tour is designed for adults (18+) only.
  • Guests should wear layered, warm clothing, ski pants and hiking/snow boots.
  • No snowshoe experience is necessary, but guests should be physically fit and prepared for 2 hours of snowshoeing.
