Ute Knowledge: Colorado’s Original Scientists
This Ute Stem Project is a hands-on education kit exploring how Ute people used their Traditional Knowledge to thrive in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The program teaches students about Ute Knowledge while intersecting it with Science, technology, engineering and math. Funded by the National Science Foundation, activities include Ute shelter engineering, basket technology, beadwork math and more. This curriculum will give students a better understanding of Ute culture and traditions. This is a great resource for 4th grade educators and up and meets history, math and science standards.
