Historical Walking Tours of Telluride Offered Twice Weekly

Historical Walking Tours with Ashley Boling are back, and we’ve added a second day of the week! Hear the tales and see the sights on this lively tour about town. Join longtime local, performer, and community historian Ashley Boling as he recounts the people, events, and buildings that make Telluride unique.

Ashley has been giving engaging historical walking tours of Telluride for more than 20 years and his innate enthusiasm for history and natural gift for storytelling will have you entertained for the complete hour and fifteen minute tour of town. Learn about some of Telluride’s most notable citizens and famous stories and see where Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank!

Tuesdays 11:00 a.m. – Meet at Museum

Thursdays 1:00 p.m. – Meet at Museum

*Tours must be booked in advance. Participants must wear a mask at all times and practice safe social distancing. The Museum will provide sanitized listening devices free of charge. Call 970-728-3344 to reserve.

New This Summer: Pandemic Cemetery Tour!

Join the Telluride Historical Museum’s newly revamped tour of Lone Tree Cemetery to learn real life stories of how pandemics and the like affected those in Telluride and across our country. Find out what life was like in quarantine before technology and how people in the past approached the constant threat of illness and disease.

This tour has new research and content and is different from our previous Lone Tree Cemetery Tours.

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tour group is limited to 9 total people, and tours take place every Monday beginning at 11AM.  Please meet at the Columbia Avenue entrance of Lone Tree Cemetery. Masks are required to be worn at all times, and all participants must adhere to social distancing rules. Listening devices will be available.
